After successfully ambushing the threat to Red from a woman thief and a male fighter of the Red Swords the group encounter a wave of darkness that nearly knocked them unconcious. They felt like it came from the vicinity of the clinic in the Fold. They rushed to the scene discovering that everybody in the Fold was either dead or unconcious. They got to the Clinic and headed for the graveyard and discovered Yrgi's body hanging half way out of the hole into the sewers. They checked his vitals and he was alive. It was decided that Red would take Yrgi back to the guild and the other two would head down to the gate room and find Bera. Red ran for the guild and the others traveled down.
Arangail and Vaelyn soon discover the bodies of the workers, 3 of them are dead. The others were unconsicious and bleeding slightly from the ears. They headed into the small tunnel and discovered Seenia's body stuck in the tunnel. They pulled her out and discovered a silky string attached to her ankle that looked broken, she was bleeding badly from her ears, one of her eyeballs had popped and she was very dead. They left her and continued into the tunnel and entered the room on the other side, the gargoyle statues were restored and the door was open. They cautiously entered the door and down the stairs. The stair trap was reset but no other traps were found. They discovered Dunran's body crumpled at the bottom of the stairs his neck broken, blood covered his ears and face and his possesions are gone other then a mace attached to his belt. They climbed the stairs and discovered a naked body in the red colored pool and the gate has changed from being solid black to cloudy white. Upon closer examination they think the body might be Yrgi. They manage to get him out of the red colored pool and it is another Yrgi. They find no other evidence of any other bodies. Bera and all of the guards appear to be missing. They decide to leave and do so quickly with the new Yrgi wrapped in Arangail's cloak. They get back to the tunnel to leads to the catacomb area. Vaelyn climbs in and heads for the other side when he notices somebody down the tunnel duck down. Vaelyn backs out. They hear stone grinding and look down the tunnel an see something is blocking the tunnel. Every few minutes they hear stone grinding. It appears somebody is trying to prevent them from leaving. They end up hammering a spike into the 1st stone, attach a rope to it and pull out the stone towards there end, 4 all together. Nobody is in the catacomb area other then the worker's bodies. There is evidence that someone bare foot was walking around. They hurry to the hole in the ceiling of the sewer that leads out and discover someone has pulled the rope out. They hear an amused cackle up top. After a few embarrassing and failed attempts to quickly climb, Arangail and Vaelyn manage to get out of the sewer area using pitons and other climbing equipment. Vaelyn determines a bare footed person had been out here or perhaps a couple based on the tracks. They notice outside the church that the militia and some of the Kingdom of Tally soldiers are cleaning up bodies on the street.
Red carries Yrgi back to the guild but nobody is there. On the way Yrgi mumbles in some weird language occasionally. Yrgi wakes up right before Red was going to go to the church of Waukeen. They go down to his office and he groggily rifles through his desk and gets his brandy out and two flasks after Red asked about healing potions. Red notices his seems confused and disoriented. He then passes out. Red decides to cast detect magic on Yrgi and discovers he has necromantic and illusion radiating from him. Red picks him up and heads for the Church again. Ygri manages to stand up and helps lead Red to the Church. They enter a doorway shortly before the Church. Yrgi stands up straight and lets go of Red. It's dark and Red reaches for his light stone. Ygri rushes down the stairs in the middle of the room at a run. Red follows somewhat baffled by Yrgi's actions. The stairs travel downward about 30-40 feet and then its a straight run. Yrgi is again ranting and raving in some odd language but has too much of a head start for Red to catch up. A corner approaches that goes away from the direction of the Church. Red follows. At one point after the corner Red thinks he felt a stone sink slightly under his weight. Afterwards, he stops to listen and rethink his strategy. He appears to be not gaining on Yrgi. He heads back to the stairs but discovers they are closed shut. He heads back down the hall and throughly looks for the stone that he thinks he triggered. He finds it and triggers it and runs back to discover the stairway open for escape. Uncertain on who to turn to, Red runs to the Fold to seek out Vaelyn and Arangail. On his way there he discovers the Fold is filled with Militia and Soldiers of Tally preventing people from entering the area. He sneaks in taking back alleys and manages to avoid to much trouble. He climbs the wall and discovers Yrgi wrapped in a cloak with Arangail and Vaelyn in the Clinic.
They decided to split up and take 3 different ways out of the Fold and goto 3 different places. Arangail will take Yrgi to his house. Vaelyn will go to the Church of Waukeen to get help for Yrgi. Red will go to Kazir and seek his assistance for Yrgi and for help in general. They will all meet at Yrgi's. Vaelyn and Red make it out with little trouble. Red is hiding, avoiding what might be a militia man and instead a poorly dressed man runs by and doesn't seem to notice Red. Red hears it talking something like the weird Yrgi. He quickly follows the person. At one point the man notices Red and screams oddly. Red continues to follow regardless that he has been seen. The creature goes around a corner and Red follows. They engage in combat. The creature appears to look alot like Seenia but slightly deformed and clawed. Red also notices some sort of arcane symbols on his arms. Red turns the table of the fight with a shield spell. However, the creature gets through his shield with a claw attack and Red becomes paralyzed. This time the paralysis appears to be more potent as Red can't seem to fight it. He hears someone approach from behind and some voices talking in that odd language. He blacks out. Vaelyn gets to the Church of Waukeen and only a couple locals are there when he louded asks for help. He frantically asks where the Lothander church and heads there. He convinces a priest at the church to go with him to Yrgi's and informs the priest a somewhat abridged version of what's going on. They get to Yrgi's house. Arangail has cleaned and dressed Yrgi as best he could and placed him in bed. The priest works on Yrgi. Red gets close to Kazir's place and its too close to the Fold with all the militia and soldiers. He attempts but Kazir seems to not want to see him. He heads to Yrgi's house and arrives shortly after Vaelyn. The priest declares he has tried everything he currently can do but will return tommorow once he has prayed for better guidance. He suspects Yrgi is in some sort of coma.
